Dies Investigator Claims ey On U. S. Workers Was. Warranted.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 4 (U. P)—
Rep. Noah M. Mason (R. IIL), mem‘ber of ‘the Dies committee, told the Royse: yesterday that Attorney General Francis: Biddle had made a “deliberate attempt to whitewash the facts” in: reporting on the FBI investigation of government employ‘ees. Mr. Biddle reported to congress that of the 4579 cases of alleged subversiye activities by federal employees, 36 dismissals and 13 other disciplinary actions had resulted. Rep. Mason said that the 1121 names furnished the justice department by the Dies committee were of employees “who were once members of subversive organizations.”
Seeks to Determine Loyalty
Rep. Jerry Voorhis (D.
