Ae ‘MR. AND MRS. HUBERT HICKAM announce the engagement of Mr. Hickam'’s daughter, Barbgta, to Audley Jackson Wasson of Chicago, son of Mf. and Mrs. Thomas M. Wasson of Kosciusko, Miss. e wedding ceremony, in Chicago on Saturday, Aug. 9, will be attended by the immediate families.
During the past year Miss Hickam has been completing her thesis for a master’s degree at the Chicago ‘Musical college. She was graduated from Tudor Hall school and Vassar college and attended ‘DePauw university, where she was a member of ‘Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She also is. a member of Mu Phi Epsilon and Phi Mu sororities and is a provisional member of the Indianapolis J league. ‘The prospective bridegroom was graduated from Holmes Junior college in Goodman, Miss, and received his bachelor and master’s degrees from the Chicago Musical college. He is now a student of radio in the signal corps at the army radio school in Chicago.

Summer Campers to Return Next Week
TWO MORE CONTINGENTS of returning summer campers will arrive in Indianapolis next week—the girls who have been at Camp Illahee, near Brevard, N. C., since the first of July and those who have spent an eight-week vacation at Camp Farwell, Wells River, Vt. The Camp Illahee girls who will be here on Thursday, Aug. 27, are Miss Mildred Cornelius, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Cornelius; Miss Jane Curle, the Marvin E. Curles’ daughter; Misses Elizabeth and Mary Goodwin, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. John K, Goodwin, and Miss Joan HefTelfinger, the J. M. Heffelfingers’ daughter. Miss Margaret Noble, Dr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Noble Jr.'s daughter, also will return with the group. She has been at the camp during the past month as counselor. Mr. and Mrs. Macy O. Teetor of New Castle will be at Brevard to bring their daughter, Joan, home with-them. --Another Indiana camper returning next week-end will be Miss Nan McMillen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart W. At the opening program, a president’s day observance on Sept. 24, Mrs. Thomas D. Campbell will speak on “Government and Civilization.” "Mrs. Prank S. O'Neil, the incoming president, will be hostess. The Oct. 8 meeting, at the home of Mrs. Earl R. Conder, will open

Richman. Hobart. A program of bridal airs preceding the ceremony was played by Mrs. C. L._ Sumner, Indianapolis, the bride's sister. This included “Berceuse,” “Ave Maria” and “Finlandia” (Sibelius). = Mrs. Sumner also accompanied Dr. Luther A. Richman, Richmond, Va., as he sang “Where'er - You Walk” and “Beloved, It Is Morn.” During the ceremony Miss Margaret Spencer of Waveland, harpist, played “In a Garden” and “To a Wild Rose.” Immediately following the rite, Dr. Richman sang “The Lord Bless Thee and Keep Thee.” Entering with her bréther, Ralph E. Richman, Boston, the bride wore a white brocaded organdy fashioned with full sleeves caught into tight cuffs and a full skirt forming a slight train, Her fingertip-length veil wa® held by clusters of orange blossoms and she carried a white Bible with a small bouquet of white gladioli blossoms. She also wore the white kid slippers worn by her mother at her wedding 52 years ago. Her only jewelry was a cameo necklace brought from Italy.

Miss. Florence Richman, Indianapolis, her sister’s maid of honor, was in pale blue fashioned with shoulder ruffles accenting a square neckline. A wide pink sash was tied at the back and fell into long streamers. In her hair she wore a pink carnation and she carried lavender asters and pink carnations." Miss Lynn Sumner, Indianapolis, niece of the bride and a brides‘maid, also wore blue styled like the ‘dress of the maid of honor. Her flowers were pink. gladioli. : The bridegroom’s attendants were Edward Englehart, Merrillville, best man, and Robert Nelson, Ainsworth, and Dale Sumner, Indianapolis, ushers. Mrs. Richman wore a gown of pink print made with long ‘sleeves and a lace collar. A reception at her home followed the ceremony.

Report Issued On Red Cross Service Work
Workers in the volunteer service corps of the Indianapolis Red Cross contributed more than 54,000 hours last month, according to a monthly report made by Mrs. Perry W.
Lesh, chairman of volunteer special
services. A total of 54,325 hours was’ devoted to various Red Cross activities by 5843 women. The production corps of which Mrs. Frank Hoke is chairman sewed and knitted 6154 garments and made 60,471 surgical and blood donor dressings.

hours at duties of the canteen corps
Gausephol. The staff assistance corps, with Mrs. Royer K. Brown as chairman, enlisted the. services of 205 women who contributed 5039 hours.
