State Chamber of Commerce! Seeks Sales Tax Opinions

THE STATE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE is asking its #“members what they think about a federal sales tax. Do ‘they want one, in view of the urgent need of the government for money? If so, do they want a retail tax or manufac-| turers’ tax? What this poll will show is just a guess but in Ohio the vote was for a manufacturers’ tax. Ohio already hés a prepaid retail tax, similar to Indiana's gross income tax. Per- ~ haps the manufacturers’ tax will be favored also by Indiana’ Ss chamber of commerce.
