This stamp will become effective on July 27 and will he ,good for four pounds of sugar anytime between that date and Aug. {22. WASHINGTON, July 10 (U. P.). —The government’s new credit regulations become effective today. Any “old” charge accounts—those standing since before May—not paid off today will be declared in default. The new credit regulations went intp operation May 7. THey require payment of charge account bills by “the 10th of the second month following the month during which purchases” were made. Under the regulations all charge accounts in existence on May 7 were regarded as purchases made during that month. Today is the

Tire Rationing The Office of Price Administration today warned that local rationing boards may refuse to issue new tires to eligible motorists if they have abused the ones they already own. : “Denial of tires on evidence of abuse is not mandatory,” the OPA said, “Where the community would suffer no serious loss if the applicant were denied tires because othér persons can provide the same service, or for other reasons, the board may refuse to grant tires to replace casings damaged by abuse.” * 8 x = : Small Business
