In Sanitation for Produc-

tion Distribution.

The city health department today began enforcement of the city’s new milk control ordinance which sets up minimum sanitation standards for production and distribution of milk in Indianapolis. Dr, Herman G. Morgan, city health officer, said 25 distributors and about 3000 producers in the Indianapolis drea have qualified for the sale of grade A milk. The ordinance permits the sale of only grade A milk in the bottle trade, setting up improved standards of sanitation in the production and handling of it.

grade B, a punitive grading for producers who fall below the required standards, can be sold in bottle trade only 30 days, pending re~ adjustment of conditions that caused the degrading. Grade ¢ milk is listed for commercial and manufacturing purposes only. In connection with the enforcement of the new ordinance, “Mrs, Louis R. Markun, member of the Indiana milk control board, declared that “consumers will be gratified that Indianapolis has taken this progressive step.”
