Baker-Chandler Rite Is This Afternoon
The gown in which her mother, Mrs. Charles R. Chandler, was married 25 years ago today, will be worn by Miss Mary Corinne’ Chandler when she becomes the bride of Corp. Carl Lester Baker this afternoon. The ceremony will pe at 3:30 o'clock in Mrs, Chandier’'s home, 302 Blue Ridge road.
Fashioned of ivory satin, the bridal gown has a sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and short train. Miss Chandler also will wear her mother’s wedding slippers of ivory satin and the long, white kid gloves which her mother wore. Her illusion veil, in fingertip length, will be held by an orange blossom tiara. The bridal bouquet will be a shower of gardenias, white roses and stephanotis. The hride will be given in marriage by her uncle, Eugene C. Pulliam. The Rev. Irvin B. Pulliam, grandfather of the bride, will read the double ring ceremony before a fireplace masked with a fan-shaped screen of huckleberry foliage. Centering the mantelpiece will be a bouquet of white gladioli, white iris and white larkspur, flanked by white candles in seven-way brass candelabra.
