Pointers on Washing
Chenille Spreads
If you wash your chenille bedspreads in an electric washer, experts say you will get best results by first putting the spread into a pillowcase, then washing the entire thing in the washer. This procedure should prevent the tufts shedding excessively. Otherwise, wash in the usual manner. When the spread is almost dry, shake it vigorously to fluff the heavy tufting. If the day is a little windy, so much the better.
