The Woodruff United Presbyterian church, at 12th st. and Arsenal ave., will be the scene, at 7 o'clock this evening, of the wedding of Miss Martha Scott to Walter S. Johnson Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Johnson of New Augusta. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Scott, 2425 College ave. The Rev. William C. Ball, pastor of the church, will read the single ring ceremony at an altar decorated with palms and candelabra. Mrs. C. L. Bridges, organist, will play a program of bridal music and Miss Elizabeth Lowe will sing. The bride is to be given in marriage by her father. She will wear a white satin gown made with a train, long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline accented with seed pearls. Her hip length veil, made of two tiers of illusion, will be held by a lace ccronet and she will carry bride’s roses. university. Red, white and blue satin ribbons will mark the pews and white flowers and blue delphinium interspersed with smilax will decorate the altar. There will be an American flag at the left of the altar. Among the bridal selections played by Miss Donna Alles, organist, will be “Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life,” “I ‘Love You Truly” and “Beta Sweetheart” song. “My Heart at Thy Sweet Voice” and “To a Wild Rose” will be played by Miss Mary Catherine Stair, harpist. Given in marriage by her father, Gordon C. Miller, the bride will wear a gown with a Duchess lace torso bodice appliqued on to a bouffant skirt of bridal white silk chiffon. The sleeves will be bracelet length and the sweetheart neckline will be accented by a pearl necklace. Completing the bridal costume will be a two-tiered elbow length veil of illusion attached to a Juliet cap of tucked tulle. She will carry a colonial bouquet of white swainsonia and stephanotis centered with a white orchid.
