WORK AT HOME

Hoosier Sailors Assure Him They Will Fight Until Job Is Finished.

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind, June 11 (U. P.).—Americans on the home front must “put their house in order” so that ihe nation’s youth fichting on the war front will not return to an internally-weakened country, Governor Schricker de-

clared last night. Speaking to Hoosier police chiefs at their annual convention banquet, the governor, who came from a Governors’ Day outing at the Great Lakes naval training station, reported: “The boys from Indiana sent me back with this message: ‘We're here to finish our job. Go back and tell the people at home we're staying until the job is finished.” “We must set our house in order: to welcome these and the millions of boys who will return home, or otherwise they will sit around and sell apples for what they can get,” the governor said.

Members felt, he said, that this was no time for a convention with! entertainment features. “When the convention is held,” Mr. Stout said, “it will be brief,
