Schricker Lifts Restrictions On Foreign ' Vehicles. Used in War Work.
In another move toward ‘the elimination of interstate barriers, Governor Schricker yesterday - waived state license requirements for out-of-state motor vehicles being used in the war effort. © The chief executive issued a proclamation instructing state, county and city officials to permit the operation within the state of any motor vehicle engaged in the transportation of freight or being ~ used by a war industry worker even ‘though the vehicle is not licensed under the laws of this state. The only “string” attached to this ruling by the governor was the stipulation that the waiving of license requirements. would pertain only to motor vehicles coming from - those statese where the governors had issued: similar proclamations. In explaining the reason for the proclamation, the governor said that “the unhampered flow of commerce throughout the U. S. is of vital importance to effective prosecution of the war effort.”
