Pianists Enroll In Local Meet

Several hundred student pianists from Indianapolis and surrounding towns have enrolled in a three-day piano meet which starts Friday in Hotel Washington for honors in the ninth annual piano playing auditions. Sponsored by the Indianapolis chapter of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, the local meet will be part of a nation-wide movement

which is held each year by the guild to set up definite goals with rewards for the piano students as an inducement toward deeper study of artistic piano playing. More than 12,000 students in 112 music centers will participate. Bomar Cramer is general chairman for the Indianapolis event and Hugh Ridout, Detroit, Mich., wellknown pianist-teacher, will judge the contestants here.
