NEW FORESTER COURTS FORMED

Women’s and Youth Units To Be Instituted at St. Philip Neri.

A new court, td be known as St. Philip Neri Court 708, will be instituted by the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters Sunday. Members of the order from Chicago and Lafayette will conduct the

initiation for the 50 candidates for|

membership Sunday afternoon in the St. Philip Neri auditorium.

Juvenile Court Formed

A juvenile court also will be in-

stituted Sunday and both adult and receive com-|

juvenile courts wiil munion in a body at the 7 a. m.| mass at St. Philip Neri church. Mrs, Rose Eisenbart, field representative of the order which has, its headquarters in Chicage, organized the new court and will be in charge of the installation.

Aids Are Named

She will be assisted by Mrs. Mabelle Lindenmeyer, Hammond, high trustee; Mrs. Dorothy .\dang, Ft. Wayne, deputy supervisor; Mrs, Dorothy C. Feerr, Lafayette, field! representative; Mrs. Minnie Engle, | Kokomo, chief ranger, and Arthur G. Murray, Chicago, high court rep- | resentative. The program will end with a banquet served the new members and out-of-town guests by the St. Philip Neri Male Court of Foresters and a musical program by the children’s orchestra of the church's parochial school.

100 AGENCIES BEGIN POST-WAR PLANNING

SAILORS OFFERED | OFFICER TRAINING

WASHINGTON, April 17 (U. P).{ —Regular and reserve enlisted men| of the navy today were offered an | opportunity to become ensigns in| the naval reserve. An enlisted man who has been on active duty six months may ap-| ply for reserve midshipman train-| ing if he has completed three years’! college work. If he has been on! active duty 12 months, only two | vears of college training are re-| quired. | Candidates, who must be between 20 and 27 years old, will be ordered | to the naval training school at} Notre Dame university.

FEDERAL WORKERS SEEK SALARY RAISE

Times Special WASHINGTON, April 17.—Civil employees of the federal government, watching pay raises in industrial fields, are beginning to push] for improvement of their own eco-| nomic position. Through their organizations they are calling the attention of congressmen to the fact that they have not had a general pay raise since 1925, the year of the last reclassification of federal jobs on a wide scale. The budget bureau is now studying a proposal that civil employees of the government be given temporary wage increases or bomuses to meet wartime pressure on pocketbooks.
