Eichelberger, director of the commission to study the organization of peace, and Dr. Harry D. Gideonse, president of Brooklyn college,

2 ” a8 THE TRUE STORY of an undertaker in Placerville, Cal.,, who spent 25 years looking for relatives of a man he was to bury will be dramas tized on “Death Valley Days” at] 7 o'clock tonight on WFBM. James McArdle, the undertaker, felt that he should have been a detective and in spite of the discouragement he received at the hands of his wife, he got an opportunity to prove his sleuthing prowess when an unidentified Swede was brought to him for burial. The undertaker discovered the dead man had more than $50,000 in the bank and no known relatives. After a search of 25 years, he discovered a nephew of the man in| Sweden who later received the inheritance,

She's also reported to have several other offers, including a picture with Bob Hope . . . Bob Trout, CBS commentator in London, will move to various war theaters before returning to this country when Ed Murrow replaces him late this month. . . . ~ Len Doyle, who plays the role of Harrington on the “Mr. District Attorney” series, has offered his 42foot cabin cruiser and his own services to the U. S. coast guard for patrol duty. . . . Reports say that Al Pearce will have several new feminine voices on his show in the immediate future. He's been holding auditions for some time, seeking new talent. That ghostly voice that scares the daylights out of radio listeners in the “Hermit's Cave” series also takes part in Columbia's “Romance of Helen Trent.” His name is Klock Ryder. . . Milo Boulton is scheduled to be the master-of-ceremonies on the “We, the People” series which returns April 26. . + Bert (The Mad Russian) Gordon of the Eddie Cantor show has a ‘contract with Columbia Pictures to star in a film in a straight role. Diminutive Mary Ann Mercer, singing star of “Uncle Walter's Doghouse,” visits her eighth army camp tomorrow when she flies to San Antonio, Tex. to be guest of the boys at Kelly field. She's been instrumental in the sale of nearly a quarter million dollars worth of war stamps and bonds at the camps.
