The 1942 state high school basketball tournaments slipped off slightly in attendance from the 1941 total, according to figures released today in the Indiana High

The total attendance at sectional, regional, semi-final and final tournaments was listed as 354,292, as compared with the 1941 total of 362,659. However, the state final tourney drew more fans than in 1941. The breakdown into classifications showed: The 64 sectionals—1%42 257618: 1941, 266.151. At 16 regionals—1942, 60,138; 1941. 60,039. At four semi-finals—1042 22.280; 1941, 22.231. At the state final—1942 14258: 1941, 14.238. | a Regional and semi-final figures! marked new records since the pres-| ent tourney system was started in! 1936.

Dates for the 1943 sectionals were announced as Feb. 25-26-27. Athletes winning first or second places in each sectional event will advance to the state final. First and second place relay teams, also, will come to the state. Sectionals are scheduled for May 16 or Friday night, May 15. They are Bloomington, East Chicago (Roosevelt), Elkhart, Gary, Indianapolis (Tech), Indianapolis (Washington), Kokomo, Lafayette, Muncie (Burris), Mishawaka, Rushville, Seymour, Terre Haute, Vincennes and North Side Ft. Wayne. North ! Side is the defending champion this year.
