BANDIT PAIR SLUGS AND ROBS MILKMAN

Two Negro bandits slugged and robbed a Schaefer dairy deliveryman shortly after 9 a. m. today.

The attack, police said, occured on E. 44th st. near Winthrop ave. Charles Marqua, 32, the victim, told police the men blocked his truck with their car. FORMER ATTORNEY HERE DIES ON COAST

Frank A. Bruce, former local attorney and member of the Indian-| apolis Bar association, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clifford Zoeller in Los Angeles, according to word received here. Mr. Bruce practiced law in Indianapolis for many years before moving to California four years ago. He is survived by his wife, Minnie, and his daughter, Mrs. Zoeller.

2 SOLDIERS GIVEN U. S. PRISON TERMS

Two soldiers were sentenced to prison terms yesterday in federal court by Judge Robert C. Baltzell after army officials said they would follow a “hands off policy” regarding soldiers who violate civilian laws. Thomas E. Reese, 21, of Evansville, one of the soldiers, was given two and one-half years for a car theft and Leon Hinecker, 18, of Hartford City, also charged with car theft, was sentenced to one year and one day. Two other men, Lawrence E. Sayre, 38, Indianapolis, charged with failure to register, and William L. Cullen, Shamokin, Pa. charged with failing to report his address change were placed under $1500 bond.
