Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Spangler, 368 S. Woodrow ave, and their daughter, Miss Mary Gardner, were host to a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force the past g week. : The flier was William Ken-. nedy, who is stationed at Alymer, Canada. H i s home is In Ottawa. Mr. Kennedy has been friends of the Spanglers and Miss Gardner for several years. He left yesterday for his post.

It didn't take Pvt. Robert L. Fahrbach long to learn how to shoot a riffe. | Hes been in the service only eight weeks but in a recent competition at Ft. SECOND MEETING

The U. S. S. Indianapolis No. 42, navy club, will hold a “launching meeting” at 8 p. m. tomerrow in the war memorial. It will be the first meeting of the local unit since its installation March 15. The club was formed with 95 men, former members of the navy, marine corps or coast guard, as charter members. Howard Caldwell is commander. Other exservice men of these three branches are eligible for membership. = = tJ
