The Andamans number 204 ise lands. Like the Philippine archie pelago, most of them sare small, The five principal islands are: Landfall, Interview, Middle Andae man, Labyrinth and South Anda man. The name probably comes from the Malay word “Handuman,” which means monkey. And the ine habitants are among the fiercest and most primitive on earth. They have long been associated with India. IN CRIMINAL COURT

The biggest arraignment calene dar in Criminal court for several months has been set for Tuesday when 78 defendants will be called - before Judge Dewey E. Myers for pleas. Among defendants scheduled for arraignment are John H. Duncan and Eugene Meloy who were ine dicted by the grand jury Dec. 1 on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with accepte ance of alleged bribe money. Duncan and Meloy are charged in the indictment with taking $500 from two men who were being ine vestigated by the grand jury in connection with receiving stolen goods. The indictment charged that the defendants represented themselves as being in the position to influence the grand jury’s investigation.
