OXFORD, O., March 10 (U. P). ~Stuart Holcomb, football coach at Washington & Jefferson college and former Ohio State gridiron captain, was named head football coach at Miami university today. Holcomb succeeds Frank Wilton, for 10 years head football coach at Miami. Wilton resigned last Dec. 18 after several mediocre football seasons. :
Since graduation from Ohio State, Holcomb - successively has held football coaching positions at Findlay college, Muskingum college and Washington & Jefferson. At Ohio State, he played both halfback and fullback and captained the 1931 team.

Last of the 35 competing dogs roamed the Ames preserve yesterday and the three judges ordered Luminary and Lucky Strike to com« pete again for the 1842 championship and $1500 cash prize. Luminary, owned by A. G. O. Sage of New York, turned in a sparkling performance early in the trials, ranging wide over ice~crusted ground .in snow flurries to locate game eight times. Lucky Strike, owned by Gerald M. Livirigston of Quitman, Ga. [found only three coveys during three hours afield, but displayed strong and consistent groundwork and near-flawless form.
