SEEK MEN FOR OFFICER SCHOOL

Selection Board Quizzes Fort’'s Applicants For Training.

A board of officers from the Headquarters of the Fifth Corps Area, was at Ft. Harrison today, to examine and select warrant officers and enlisted men to attend the Officers Candidate Schools. The board will remain at the Fort through Thursday. Warrant officers and enlisted men who have achieved a rating of 110 in the general classification test are eligible to apply for admission to the officers schools. The board members are Lieut. Col. Earnest F. Dukes, Maj. Robert W. Copelan, Maj. Frederick E. Cain, Maj. Walter B. Lacock and Lieut. Russell H. Horton. = = =

Repairs Rolling Stock

The Army utilized Robert L. Kirk's knowledge of machinery when he entered the service. He left a position as inspector at the Allison Division of General Motors Corp. to join the forces and was placed in the mechanical corps re- = = % pairing the Robert Kirk Armys rolling stock. Pvt. Kirk is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Kirk, 1108 S. Richland Ave, and he spent last Sunday with them on a short leave. He has returned to his station at Ft. Belvoir, Va. Pvt. Kirk attended Washington High School and has been in the service since last April.

Williams Promoted

Charles T. Williams has been promoted to the rank of first sergeant in the 11th Infantry Regiment. at Ft. Custer, Mich. Sergt. Williams’ Indianapolis address is 2803 N. New Jersey St. The 11th Regiment is one of the oldest in the U. S. Army. = = =

New Army enlistees at the Indianapolis recruiting station are: Lawrence E. Corlette, 3450 N. Capitol Ave; Emest O. Hook, 806 S. Capitol Ave, and Crawford H. Naugle, 5329 University Ave, who are not yet assigned to duty and

BERNE, Ind, Feb. 10 (U. P) — Clarence Jones of Montana today knows exactly what a tire shortage is. While he was visiting his parents here, thieves stole two wheels and tires from his car.
