Fight bouts in the Open class
mine the Indianapolis team that {will compete in the Tournament of Champions in Chicago, Feb. 23, 124, 25. . Eight matches in the Novice class {probably will furnish an equal {amount of action as the Open bat/tles, although the youngsters’ only reward will be prizes and a better opportunity to advance to the experienced bracket next year. But come what may, all boxers |participating in Friday's bouts will {receive prizes which go to Open {champs and runners-up and Novice champs and runners-up. | Only three 1941 Indianapolis 'Golden Gloves Open champs still are on deck in the current tourney, Inow in its fourth and last week. | These are Earl Paul, 126 pounds; {James Sherron, 147 pounds, and {Willard Reed, heavyweight. But last year Reed fought as a light heavy and won that title. Paul Takes on Beamon As a matter of fact, Reed is a {three-time champ and is now gun{ning for a fourth crown. In 1939 ihe captured tne 160-pound title, {and in 1940 and 1941 the Northeast {Community Center idol took down {the top honors in the 175-pound | i division. | Earl Paul represents Leeper Boxing School. James Sherron is the Washington Athletic Club's ace. | On Friday Paul tackles Robert Beamon, Hill Community Center, who is a good puncher and shifty. This maten promises to pull the iringsiders out of their seats as both {lads are aggressive and of typical Golden Gloves type—willing mixers. | James Sherron is to oppose Don {Schooley of the Police Associated {League No. 3 from Pennsy Gym. In 1941 Schooley won the 147-pound |crown in the Novice class and made {the grade to Open competition in lone year. He is a hard hitter with
: oth hands, but will have to be at
{the peak of condition to offset Sher'ron’s experience. This is a tough bout to dope in advance and the fans will get the benefit of the | action. Meets Prather {| After knocking out Robert Don‘nell in the third round last week,

HUNT MAN WHO LURED GIRL, 6, INTO HIS AUTO
A slim, dark-haired man of about 45 was hunted today by police after the father of a 6-year-old girl reported the child had been lured into the man’s auto and molested. The girl was on her way home from school when the man stopped her at 31st and Annette Sts. and enticed her with candy. The child, almost hysterical, told her parents the man had driven to a secluded spot near the White River and later took her back to 31st and Annette Sts.
