Children to See Double Feature Tomorrow at Civic Playhouse

TOMORROW WILL BE A “BIG DAY” on the younger set's social calendar because many of them are planning to attend the Childen’s Civic Theater productions of “Cinderella” and “Rumplestiltskin” at the Civic Playhouse. As a matter of fact, any double-feature addicts could see the plays twice since an extra matinee has

been scheduled for 5:45 p. m. Mrs. Joseph W. Walden, chairman of the Children’s Theater, and Mr. Walden have planned a large party for the show. It will include their daugnter Susan, Mr. and Mrs. James Rose and their son Jimmy; Mr. and Mrs. George Fotheringham and their son Barney, and Mr. and Mrs. William Thompson and their son John. Mrs. Paul Lee Hargitt will take three of her children, Jeanne, Edward and Paul, and David Shirley, Mary Ellen Burton, Diane French, Eileen Sims and Lucy Pickford who is here from Los Angeles visiting her aunt, Mrs. William Shaffer.

Petersons, will have as their guests Valerie Philpott, Lynn Boatman, Nancy and Ricky Ahrbecker. Mrs. B. P. Mulcahy and her three children, Richard, Patricia and Denis, will be at the theater with Mrs. Robert IL. Mobley, Mary Lee Mobley, Martha Oliver and Margaret Ankenbrock. Another party will include Mrs. L. E. McNay and her daughter Nancy; Mrs. William E. McNay and son William and Mrs. Allen Stephenson hose son William plays a leading role in “Rumplestiltskin.”

Church Groups Former Aid in China Mission To Speak Here

The appearances of guest speakers, together with luncheon and dinner meetings, highlight news of churchwomen'’s activities for next week. Mrs. William H. Standring of Greencastle will address a generai meeting of the WOMEN of ALL SAINTS’ CATHEDRAL in the Cathedral House at 7:45 p. m. Dahlia Conference Is Tonight

Representatives of fourteen groups will meet for the annual Midwest Dahlia Conference tonight at 7 o'clock in the Claypool Hotel. These societies, which sponsor an annual dahlia show, include: The American Dahlia Society, the Central States Dahlia Association, Ohio Valley Dahlia Association, the Dahlia Societies of Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Indiana together with the societies of Corydon, Louisville, Barbourville, Ky., Gregter St. Louis, Racine, Wis, and Indianapolis. This year's exhibit, plans for which have been made for Sept. 19 and 20, has been awarded to the Indianapolis organization with R. C. Swartz as president.
