Injury Forces Kovaes Out
The “Clown Prince of Tennis,” Frank Kovacs, will be out of the show when the professional troupe goes through its matches at the Butler Field House Thursday night. A wrist injury has forced the colorful racquet star from the lineup of the coast-to-coast tennis tour with Don Budge, Bobby Riggs and Fred Perry. Lester Stoefen, California’s blond giant who toured with Ellsworth Vines a few years ago, will take his place until Kovacs can return. Stoefen will oppose Fred Perry in one of the local matches of the pay-if-you-win show with Budge facing Riggs in the other feature match. A double match will complete the program which starts at 8:15 p. m.
Stoefen Flies East
To Join Tour LOS ANGELES. Jan. 20 (U. P.).—

He will replace Frank Kovacs, who injured an arm. He expected he would be on the tour about three weeks. Stoefen, besides sharing the world doubles crown, was thrice coholder of the U. S. doubles championship and once held the U. S. indoors singles championship.
