Voters’ League Maps Work In War Time
‘Winning of Peace’
Is Group's Aim
A plan for carrying information and understanding of government in wartime to “the people” by 600 local units of the League of Women voters was outlined today by the National League's board at a meeting in the Indianapolis. Athletic Club. The plan suggests the appoint= ment of a special committee in each leagiie and a mobilization director to register and organize League members for a regular number of hours of work in distributing infor-= mation on current governmental problems to the public. It also calls for a director to prepare and secure simple statements of governmental problems. The board further suggests that a training director be placed in charge of developing leaders of unit groups, consisting of 10 members each, and the appointment of a speaker's bu= reau and publicity and radio direc= tors in each league. At its final meeting this afternoon the board will arrange for the de= velopment of plans to implement two other points of action: Special attention to local governmental problems and a campaigh to see that a Congress is elected in 1042 which is capable of dealing with problems it will face, particularly that of the post-war organization of peace. The board's action was based on a “Declaration of Wartime Service” prepared by the National Couneil at the conclusion of its two =day meeting here yesterday. This after= noon’s meeting will be the last of
