Concert at English Part of Town Hall Series.
The Trapp Family Singers, nine musicians who are known for their a-cappella singing and perfect pitch, will present a concert at 11 a. m. tomorrow at the English Theater as a part of the Indianapolis Town Hall series. Composed of the wife, five daughters and two sons of Baron Georg von Trapp and a young composer, Dr. Franz Wasner, the Trapp family sings rollicking folk songs, yodels and mountain calls in colorful peasant costumes. They also play music of the past on picturesque blockflutes, the woodwinds of the 15th Century. The singers are composed of Johanna and Agatha von Trapp, sopranos; Maria and Martina von Trapp, mezzo sopranos; Hedwig and Baroness Marie von Trapp, contraltos; Werner von Trapp, tenor; Dr. Rupert von Trapp, bass, and Dr. Wasner, conductor. Autry Rides Boom
For Senate Seat
OKLAHOMA CITY, Jan.9 (U.P.). —Gene Autry, the cowboy crooner of movies and radio, is being boomed for the U. S. Senate in Oklahoma. Efforts to get Mr. Autry to enter the spring campaign and July pri-
homa recently when the town of Berwyn, Okla., changed its name to Gene Autry, Okla. The cowboy singer recently purchased a 20,000 acre ranch in that vicinity. Mr. Autry would be forced to run against U. S. Senator Josh Lee, former University of Oklahoma professor and a strong Administration supporter, in the Democratic primary. Administration critics have been most active in trying to get Mr. Autry into the race. A campaign is being waged from Oklahoma to convince the movie industry that it should co-operate in making contract adjustments for Autry.

Magic Touch In Jan's Job
Grippo Is Paid for Halding Veronica Lake's Hand.
HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 9 (U. P.).— A young man named Jan Grippo has one of the most pleasant johs in town. He is holding hands with Veronica Lake, teaching her tricks during most of his working hours.
The tricks are sleight of hand which she must learn for Paramount’s “This Gun for Hire.” Miss Lake is cast as a lady magician who gets into international complications with a spy ring. She is held captive by Alan Ladd, cast as a killer on the lam. Among her tricks is that of leaving a trail of playing cards so hero Robert Preston can track her down and rescue her from the clutches of the villians. To prove that their trickster is bona fide, the writers put in a scene showing the heroine doing 11 feats of magic. Mr. Grippo was hired to see that she learned to do them in acceptable fashion. She has to do them while dancing
