30,000 Wells Needed

Dr. Pirson estimated that 900,- of & Ar 2 000,000 barrels of crude oil will be 9% needed each year for the United States and the allied war machines, necessitating an increase of 250,000,000 to 730,000,000 barrels over the 1941 production if efvilian consumption is not to be curtailed. To meet the need, he said, “it will be necessary to drill at least 30,000 new wells in 1942” Dr. Pirson sald his method of prospecting is of additional military significance since it is capable of discovering stratigraphiz oil deposits.
