greatest number of Christmas greet ings over long distance telephone lines in its history. Calls are expected to be increased due to the number of men in Army camps and the fact that it is a wartime Christmas.- Many long distance circuits have been withdrawn from regular service for the Government's use on calls that concern the nation’s safety. Many new circuits have been added to the long distance facilities in Indianapolis during 1941 and sufficient operators will be on duty dur= ing the holiday rush, the company. said. However, officials said, lines to some cities will be in continuous use and it will not be possible to keep the expected telephone traffic at normal speed.
