State officials were preparing today to turn the State Employment Service over to the Federal Govern ment for operation on Jan. 1. The transfer of the Indiana gov ernmental department to the Fed eral Government is being made along with those of other states at the request of President Roosevelt. It is hoped, according to the Pres= ident, that through the unification of the state employment services, the Federal Government will be better able to recruit the manpower needed for defense industries.
