During the last few months the Government has been cracking] , down hard on people who buy from | such operators and the courts have | imposed fines. B Scores of racketeers have been. iF Jailed and a special department | called SS-3-D has been formed of | multilingual agents to ferret them out. Dealers are now strictly li-| censed and all transactions in foods are now supposed to be accompanied by bills of sale to prove to inspectors] that legai prices have been paid. Despite these counter-measures the Black Market still goes on and it will probably continue to go on| just as long as certain things are scarce and people want them hard | enough.
