WASHINGTON, Dec. 4 (v. Pl) The Treasury today floated a $1,500,000,000 loan, a record borrowing of new money by this Government during peace-time and threefourths the amount of the first Liberty Loan of the World War. Offering of the bonds to the public apparently indicated the Administration did not expect any immediate flareup in the Far Eastern crisis. The loan shoved the national debt beyond the $56,000,000,000

PROBE LISBON DEATH OF ARMY OFFICER

Cummings, one of the best technical experts in the air corps. Lieut. Col. Cummings died suddenly on Tuesday after lunching at the Estoril Palace Hotel while en route from London to the United States. Members of the military air staff here are astounded to hear of his death. He was never ill a single day of the six months he served as assistant military attache in London. By odd coincidence Lieut.
