The Men in Service
Put the men in the service at the top of your list for gifts this Christmas. Send them several gailywrapped packages, one of which should include a sweater you have knitted yourself. The soldier at the

~. Portable Radios, Watches And Shaving Kits Among Gifts Boys in Ranks Want
You can bank on it that the Army, the Navy, the Marines and the USO are well under way with plans to make this Christmas a merry one for all the boys in the service. But you can also rest assured of the fact that the biggest thrill of all, that those boys will get this Yuletide, will be wrapped in packages on which the return address is HOME. Choosing gifts for men in the service is not so difficult a task after all says Santa Claus after prolonged consultation with the officials who know. The lives the boys are now leading have changed to the point where their desires are easily defined. The gifts should be useful, contributing to their comfort, their entertainment and also to their insatiable appetite for sweets. The gifts should be as compact and as efficient as is their new way of life. Here is a list that will help you make your selection. grandchildren are always with them; the young-marrieds whose busy hours can be cheered by wife’s or husband’s portrait on desk or living room table; sweethearts who through exchanged pictures can feel that they are never apart; for everyone dear, particularly if they are not near, no gift means more in sentiment and actuality than a lifelike photograph. } And perhaps the very first on one’s gift list to receive a portrait is the man away from home, serving in an army camp or aboard ship.
For Companionship
To him the companionship of loved ones is most precious, and homesickness or lonelinness can be easily dispelled by a sight of a dear face smiling out of a picture frame, cabinet mounting, or folding leather case. Very easily procurable, the Christmas photograph can be made the answer to every gift-giving problem on one’s shopping list. It takes mere minutes to pose for a picture, either at a studio or in one’s own home: and ordered by the half-dozen or more, the same picture can go to all whom you want to intimately remember at Christmas time. .
