Rocket fo Moon eo ve Predicted Soon LOS ANGELES,, Nov. 27 (U.P.). <A trip to the moon may not be as fantastic as it sounds. Our great-grandchildren may make the first one, is the opinion of Dr.

Griffith Astronomical Observa-

Dr. Alter predicted that man’s first visit to the moon would take

100 years—if not sooner.” The first flight, he said, depends on the development of a new element known as Uranium 233, new being studied at the University of California at Berkeley. “It’s possible to send objects to the moon right now,” he scientist said. “It is almost a- matter of fuel and cost. It has been estimated the cost of a rocket to span the 232,000 to 253,000 miles would be about $100,000,000.” He revealed that once on ‘the moon, there would be no trouble leaving. The takeoff would be simple because the planet's grdvitational pull is only a sixth that of the earth.

Row in Paraguay

BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 27 (U. P.).—Well-informed sources said today that the funeral of former President Eudardo Schaerer of Paraguay had caused an “altercation” last week in Paraguay between President Higino Moringo and Minister of Interior Col. Luis Santiviago. Schaerer died in Buenos Aires and when his body was returned to Paraguay, Santiviago gave la Tribuna, a newspaper Schaerer founded, permission to publish eulogies. Emilio Perez Ferrara, the minister of interior’s press chief, objected because Schaerer . formerly was head of the liberal party, and Ferrara, for “his own security” did not want a liberal figure praised. Moringo - sup- | ported him. These sources said “the affair was strictly internal and la Tribuna’s pro-Nazi sympathies had nothing to do with it. They denied reports that Santiviago had attempted a coup d’etat, which the army had quelled. :
