NEW YORK, Nov. 25 (U. P.).— Irregularity prevailed in the stock
market in quiet dealings today as
traders awaited new developments in labor and Congressional discussions on price control. Most interest appeared centered in the railway wage dispute. Mid-day announcement that another White House conference had been scheduled for this afternoon halted a retreat in rail shares but failed to down
stimulate buying. Most rail: fractiona at mid-session, with
leaders were Southern Pacific at 12%, off 3s, and Pennsylvania at 211%, off %, after reaching a new 1941 ‘low earlier at 21, Bethlehem Steel, down %- at 58%, and U. S. Steel, off % at 52%, led the decline in the main list.
