It seems that two Seymour night policemen, Ben Hoffmeier and Don Dannettelle, decided to cap their night's work with some duck hunting. They put their boat in White River a short distance south of Reddington and with Mr. Dannettelle at the oars, started. downstream. . Mr, Hoffmeier saw a duck and shot. Simultaneously he heard a splash in a small quantity of water in the bottom of the boat behind him and wondered if he had hit a duck that had fallen behind him. About that time Mr.
