Today, 'NAVY DAY,' is being celebrated thruout the United States, and this year the observance is more significant than at any time since. the first World War. Today midst the world-wide turmoil our Navy, as always, stands as our first line of defense as well as our shield for attack. And this Navy, of which every red-blooded American is sincerely proud, is growing at a rafe never before equalled in its history

. . a growth which costs every U. S. citizen money and sacrifices,

both of which the true American is willing to assume in order that our freedom be preserved. SH gn

The pride you feel in your Navy is justified in the efficiency and sacrifices of its officers and men who place national freedom and honor above even life itself. There are dangerous days ahead for our great fighting forces of the sea and YOUR help and sacrifices are urgently
