NGI CONTROL OF PRICES FAVORED
Wage freezing is not necessary as a corollary to price fixing as a means of controlling inflation, Prof. Rollin G. Thomas of Purdue University told the Indiana Academy of Social Sciences meeting in annual session today at Butler University. Professor Thomas said that if prices sre controlled rigidly, then there will not be any belligerent attempt to force wages up. Prof. George A. Steiner, Indiana University, had previously stated that one of the aims in financing the defense effort was to prevent commodity price inflation. About 200 academy members are
expected to aiiend the sessions which opened with a luncheon at the Campus Club at which Dr. D. S. Robinson, Butler president, welcomed them. Other speakers during the afternoon included Dr. DeWitt S. Mor= gan, Indianapolis public schools superintendent, and - William °C. Cleveland, Indiana University, academy president.
