P.).—The nation’s football teams this season are fighting for a new antional collegiate championship award, established by a group of former University of Minnesota athletes. The Dr. Henry L. Williams Memo- | rial Trophy will be awarded for the next 10 years as a successor to the Rissman and Knute Rockne national football awards. Any college winning the mythical national title three times will gain permanent possession of the trophy. The Williams award was established as a memorial to the Minnesota coach who was the tutor of Bernie Bierman and Clark Shaughnessy. The Rockne trophy was retired by Minnesota last season after the Gophers won it in 1934, 1936 and
