LAFAYETTE, Oct. 8 (U. P.).— The Indiana farm price index cone tinued its six-months upward spiral during September to 134.6, highest level in several years, Purdue Unie versity reported today. The index, based on 1910-14 prices as 100, represented a gain of 6.1 points over the August level, but

failed to match the U. 8. farm price index, which soared 8 points to 139, Of 17 major farm products in Ine |diana, all showed price increases ‘‘|from Aug. 15 to Sept. ‘15 except corn, apples, cattle and wool, which were unckanged, and potatoes, horses and chickens, which suffered small price drops. The Indiana index of purchasing power of farm products, alse based on 1910-14 as 100, reached 101 on Sept. 15, a 3-point gain from the previous month. The U. S. pure chasing power index, however, made a five point gain to 105. Prices paid by U. S, farmers were quoted at an index of 133, while the U. 8. wholesale price index stood a% 134. Both levels represented a 2. point gain over: August.

salvaged. They offer to pay 80 cents for 100 pounds.
