PETIT ASKS RETURN TO POLICE FORCE

Otto J. Petit who resigned from the Police Department to run for Marion County sheriff last year sought reinstatement today. The Safety’ Board yesterday took under advisement his petition to return to the force. The Board was advised by Oscar C. Hagemier, assistant City attorney, that it has authority to reinstate him. Mr. Petit was a lieutenant when he resigned. He won the Repub-
