.~ ‘A ceremony at 8:30 o'clock this evening in the First Presbyterian Church will unite Miss Ruth Coler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Phillips Coler, 127 E. 44th St., and Theodore Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bmer BE. Scott, 2002 N. Alabama ‘ Palms and ferns will be massed at the altar at which Dr. George Arthur Frantz performs the ceremony and lilies and white gladioli will decorate the altar rail. Mrs. William H. Newcomer, organist, and Miss Jean Orloff, violinist, will - play bridal airs. Gowns of Miss Coler’s attendants . are of emerald green chiffon on Grecian lines with high necklines and long, full sleeves tied at the % wrists. They will carry shower ar- # rangements of Johanna Hill roses ~ and white - pompon chrysanthemums. # Mrs. Florence Scott Herdrich, sister of the bridegroom, will be matron of honor and bridesmaids will be Mrs. Richard Bruce DeMars, Anderson, Miss Marjorie Hill, Bruceville, Miss Louise Ellen Trimble and - Miss Lue McWhirter. Traditional ivory satin in princess style will be worn by the bride. The gown is styled with a deep pointed yoke of mousseline de soie bordered with seed pearls. She will wear a corsage of green and white orchids. Miss Coler is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Will Open Season Monday At Butler Chapter House
Mrs. Gayle B. Wolfe, incoming president of the Indianapolis AlumJr. and B. Kemper Westfall, Leba-| nae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, has issued “draft papers inducting all local alumnae into service on.Sept. 22.” ’ That is the date of the association’s first fall meeting at the Butler University Chapter House, 821 W. Hampton Drive. The “call” also inhunter’s green moss crepe with gold| cluded a “program of maneuvers” for the entire season.
Monday night’s meeting will be a supper at 6 p. m. with Mrs. Newell C. Munson, chairman of arrangements, assisted by Miss Carolyn Varin and Miss Betsy Wolfe. Church decorations will include palms, ferns, two seven-branch candelabra and baskets of white lilies. The Rev. Robert C. Kuebler will hear the marriage vows. . Her white satin gown, in princess style, is made with a sweetheart neckline and a fitted bodice of lace insertion and tiny tucks. Lace inserts extend from the shoulder line to the end of the train and the pleated front yoke has orange blossoms at the neckline. Her full length veil will be held by a Dutch cap trimmed with pearlized orange blossoms and she will carry white roses with a shower of ribbons caught with sweetheart roses. Long, Phoenix, Ariz. , As she entered on the arm of her father, the bride wore ivory slipper satin fashioned with sweetheart neckline, long, tight sleeves and a fitted midriff above a skirt that swept into a long, round train. Her full-length illusion veil fell from a profile headdress edged in satin and she carried a round bouquet of stephanotis and roses with an orchid center.
Sister Is Attendant
A faille taffeta frock was worn by her sister and only attendant, Miss Ruth Courtney. A full gored skirt of harvest leave shades was topped by a bodice of bronzeene green and she wore a hat of the same shade in velvet and taffeta. Bronze and autumn - toned chkrysanthemums formed her bouquet. Mr. Long's attendants were James O'Malley, Phoenix, best man, and John and Robert Courtney, the bride’s brothers, ushers. | Mrs. Courtney, mother of the bride, chose a black gown with a jet trimmed Eton jacket while Mrs. Long’s costume was of defense blue. Both wore orchid eorsages.
‘Reception Is This Afternoon
Assisting at a reception at the Courtney home from 2 to 4 p. m. this afternoon were to be Misses Lucille Stenger, Kathleen Flynn and Josephine Deery. Donald Gardner Takes Bride
The Rev. E. Arnold Clegg, pastor of the Capitol Avenue Methodist Church, was to officiate at a 2 p. m. ceremony today in the church uniting Mrs. Helen Nagley and Donald E. Gardner, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gardner of Elkhart, Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Duckwall, 3109 Graceland Ave., are parents of the bride. An arrangement of palms, ferns and baskets of white gladioli and asters at the altar was to form a background for the rite. Miss Jeannette Gardner, organist, was to play “Liebestraum” and “Ave Maria” before the service and “To. a ‘Wild Rose” during the ceremony. Miss Ruth Duckwall, the bride’ couin, was to sing “Pale Hands Loved” and “I Love You Truly.” Entering the church with her father, the bride was to wear a gown of turquoise blue crepe with black accessories and was to carry whité roses and gardenias.
