CHICAGO, Sept. 16 (U. P.)—A. W. Colebank, acting Federal milk market administrator for the Chi-
cago area, announced today that the blended price of milk for August deliveries was $2.19 per hundredweight, an increase of five cents over the July price. Mr. Colebank said the August price was about nine cents over the average paid by condenseries in the area for August deliveries. The blended price was based on these . class prices: Class 1 (fluid milk), $2.402; Class II (cream, ice

Idle Blast Furnace
Is Back in Service
GRANITE CITY, Ill, Sept. 168 (U. P.)—A long-idle blast furnace, recently purchased by the Koppers United Co. and rehabilitated to turn
out about 250,000 tons of pig iron a year, went back into production here today. Rebuilding of the blast furnace was begun late last June following its sale by the former Granite City Pig Iron Co. and has been rushed to completion to alleviate the nation’s critical pig iron shortage. About half the plant's production will be delivered in a molten state to the nearby Granite City Steel Co., and the remainder to other "firms, most of which are located in the St, Louis district.

cent, Lima advices to Lamborn & Co., sugar brokers, said today. In the first half of 1941 shipments to the United States amounted to 72,901 tons, to other South American countries 83,019 tons, to Europe 21,636 tons, and to Asia 319 tons.
