He warned the assembly that “we must pioneer for a new way of life so that never again will boys be called upon to give their lives as they are doing in the present war.’ He then appealed to Indiana Quakers to get behind the camps financially and furnish the $35 a month necessary for each boy This financial help has been provided so far by either the boys, their families, their friends or local churches. The Quakers already ceived an “S.0.S.” from Britain asking that six of the youths be sent to England to aid in fighting fire bombs and helping with the wounded. Errol T. Elliott, pastor of the Indianapolis First Friends Church who is attending the Western| Yearly, would be answered as soon as it was possible to get transportation for the men. HYDE PARK. N. Y., Aug. 22 (U. P.) —President Roosevelt arrived here today to meet Saturday with the Duke of Kent. brother of King George VI of Great Britain. The Duke, wino has been inspecting Canadian defense. is due here tomorrow to be an overnight guest. He will accompany Mr. Roosevelt back to Washington, arriving there on Monday, and that same day will go to Norfolk and Newport News, Va., to inspect British ships being repaired in that area.
