Marguerite Young Among New Members Added to School's Faculty.

Times Special BLOOMINGTON, Ind, Aug. 1— Seven ‘new professors have been appointed to the Indiana University faculty. They include Harold Whitehall, a native of England, an associaie professor of English, from Queens College, New York; Dr. James Jones, a graduate of the University of Texas and the North Texas Teachers Colege, chemistry; Dr. Malcolm Ross, former instructor at Cornell University, English. Dr. Orville P. Larson, who has taught at the University of Denver and the University of Hawaii. assistant professor of speech: Dr. Albert Schinz, University of Pennsylvania professor, professor eof French, and Miss Marguerite Young, of Shortridge High School, will be part-time lecturer in English during the first semester.

Nazi Germany is a military state whose national industry is war and whose rulers are professional war makers, Dr. A. D. Beeler, Butler University professor of history, told the American Business Club at a luncheon meeting yesterday in the Indianapolis Athletic Club. Dr. Beeler said that Nazism, the successor to Prussianism, is a disease the world must eradicate if civilization is to survive. “Since 1871, the German people have been reduced to complete subjection and Prussianized,” Dr. Beelers said. “Their masters in 1914 plunged the nation into a desperate gambl: for world dominion and lost, Because they lost, they and their apologists have tried to prove that the plot never existed.” Dr. Beeler said continued pursuit of our “short of war” policy can in the end “only leave us short of | victory.”

{Floyd I. McMurray, former stat | superintendent of public instruction, has been named executive secretary of a new Indiana University Extension Center to be opened this fall at Jeffersonville. Prof. R. E. Cavanaugh, director of the I. U. Extension Division, said the new center, fifth to be established in the State, will be known as the Falls City Area Center. The fall term will open in September in the Jeffersonville Senior High School. Freshmen courses will be offered lin the first term and the facilities land curriculum will be expanded { later, Prof. Cavanaugh said.

they would comply with Petroleum Co-ordinator Harold L. Ickes’ request that they close service sta-
