Samuel Elder, an invalid for 13 years, died yesterday in a nursing home at 373 N. Holmes Ave. Mr. Elder, who was 79, had lived in North Salem until a year ago. Mr. Elder was born in Boone County and was a member of the North Salem Christian Church. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carrie V. Worland, Indianapolis; two brothers, Edward Elder, Frankfort, and Oliver Elder, Evansville, and a sister, Mrs. Ada Jackson, Frankfort. Burial will be in the North Salem Cemetery following funeral services at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Shirley Bros. Central Chapel.

Bayard Francis (Frank) Entwistle, who was to have retired as a postal carrier Aug. 1, died today at his home, 134 N. Kealing Ave. He was

For 21 years he carried the mail to the Board of Trade and Hume Mansur buildings. gHe was married June 5, 1907, to Miss ‘Martha Allmeroth, who survives. He was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Acient Landmarks, F. & A. M., the Scottish Rite, and Branch 39, National Association of Letter Carriers. Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Miss Lois Entwistle; two sisters, Mrs. Stanley Whitworth, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Frank ‘Mulholland of Indianapolis, and two brothers, J. E. and George Entwistle, both of Indiangpolis, Services will be at 3 p. m. Thursday at he Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary in charge of the Rev. William C. Nelson and the Ancient Landmarks Lodge. Burial will be in Crown Hill.

JAMES W, WELLER DIES AT HOME HERE

James W. Weller, who had lived in Indianapolis nine years, died yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. H. Gibson, 2323 Central Ave. He was 76. Mr. Weller attended the Central Baptist Church. He was born in New Castle, Pa., and had lived in southern Illinois before coming to Indianapolis. Besides Mrs. Gibson, he is survived by a son, William Weller, Peru, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will .be held tomorrow afternoon in Carbondale, Ill, ‘with burial ing the Oakland Cemetery there.

MRS. M. E. PULLIAM DIES AT HOME HERE

Funeral services for Mrs. Missouri E. Pulliam, widow of James Pulliam, will be held at 2 p. m. tomorrow in the Blasengym Funeral Home. Burial will be in the New Crown Cemetery. Mrs. Pulliam, who was 78, died yesterday in her home at 2114 Shelby St. after an illness of two months. She had lived in Indianapolis all her life, and was a member of the Barth Place Methodist Church. Survivors are her daughter, Miss Bertha Pulliam, with whom she lived; a sister, Mrs. Mollie Carney, and three brothers, Charles, William and Gillman Fike, all of Indianapolis.

LYDIA H. FRITZ, 58, HERE 40 YEARS, DIES

Mrs. Lydia H. Fritz died yesterday at her home, 843 N. Oxford St., after a month’s illness. She was 58. Mrs. Fritz had lived in Indianapolis 40 years, having come here from her birthplace, Lebanon. She is survived by her husband, Herman J. Fritz, and her mother, Mrs. Maly Hettel, both of Indianapolis Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m. tomorrow in her home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at Lebanon.

1 DEAD, 2 INJURED IN DYNAMITE BLAST

FRANKFORT, Ind. July 22 (U. P.)—Ernest Snyder of Lafayette was killed and two others seriously injured last night when a charge of dynamite exploded prematurely on a pipe-line ‘project 10 miles northwest of here, Injured were Omer Myers of Frankfort and J. W. Overton of Monon. Witnesses said Snyder had been lowering the dynamite into position through a pipe. When one of the ‘ lcharges became stuck, Snyder apparently hit the pipe with a hammer setting off the explosion.
