U. S. Scientists Add Germans Instill Courage With Psychology.

NEW YORK, July 15 (U.P). The reckless courage of German soldiers is instilled by their officers before battles by means of psychological devices and even alcohol and drugs, the Committee for National Morale said today. Entitled “German Psychological Warfare,” its report results from a year of study. The committee is made up of physicians, university asychologists, social scientists and ther psychological specialties. The report asserts that German iilitary psychologists have ingenously borrowed and adapted the rindings of American psychologists, using this knowledge to build a spe- | cies of super-warrior. “America should have no qualms about adopting some of the best features of German military psychology,” the report declared. ‘The Nazis have unblushingly expropriated the findings of many American scholars.” ; Germany’s present propaganda and morale machinery originated in 1929, when the Reichswehr established a psychology research laboratory. McNutt, Federal Security Administrator and former Indians Governor, will return to Indiana University, where he once was Law School dean, to address a conference on school health problems tomorrow. His talk also will be heard by summer school students during a morning convocation.
