Federation of Clubs Will Have

Musical Penny Fund

To Benefit” Music Students

Completion of plans for establishment of a permanent Musical Penny Fund has been announced by the Indiana Federation of Clubs. The fund will be on the same pattern as the Penny Art Fund—a penny per member.

This year the fund will be used to purchase four season tickets to the Indianapolis Symphony concerts, with tickets to be used by worthy music students. District music chairmen will have the privilege of choosing the students but reservations must be made in advance for definite concerts with Miss Marian Hull at the Murat Temple. If such reservations are not made, Miss Hull is to select the students. : Mrs. Joseph Meurer, Vincennes, will be in charge of the fund, as-

District music chairmen assisting in the promotion work are Mrs. Oscar Brizius, Newburg; Mrs. William Holt, Vincennes; Mrs. Laban Lindley, Paoli; Mrs. John B. Scott, Rising Sun; Mrs. M.A. Laughlin, Cayuga, and Mrs. C. E. Brookbank, Connersville. Others are Mrs. A. L. Duncan, Indianapolis; Mrs. Marker Sunderland, Muncie; Mrs. T. and tells me to ignore the whole thing. He has threatened to leave, but still hasn’t got me bluffed.’ I'm not afraid of any of them, but this woman makes me so mad I'm in the notion of going to the tavern to see what takes place. I would have left long ago except for my children, but he says not to let the boys worry me as they will get along. I never know what it is to get out without the children. He told me I would never be able to tie him down and that he doesn’t intend to be henpecked, but. I wonder if there isn’t such a thing as being roosterpecked. I have lost all faith in him and respect for him as well; so what is there to do? : DISGUSTED, » ” »

Answer—There is no doubt but that you have been badly treated by your husband and have a legitimate kick coming. You have a right to be hopping mad, but you never will be able to improve the situation by your present methods. You're too belligerent and think force will work. Everything you have done has made matters worse; so it is about time you tried something else. For one thing why not admit that you are scared instead of protesting so loudly that no one has you bluffed? You paint a picture of a cornered woman fighting for her life yet you say you aren’t afraid. Furthermore it is perfectly clear that you resent your husband’s ability to get up and go when ‘you have to stay home with . the children. I don’t blame you a bit, but I think you should go instead of pretending to be above such things. You can find someone to stay with the children. - Again I don’t think it wise of you to have followed your husband and caused a scene. The antagonism you aroused by so doing has been more than you can handle. Granted your husband had no ‘business being drunk, but why treat him like a 2-year-old? Chronjologically he is a man and might act the part with more grace if he were treated as a man instead of an erring child. Take your husband’s advice and ignore the woman'’s calls. Hang up on her. Stop fighting and let things settle down. You're making yourself so unattractive that you have no influence whatever. When you speak your mind do so more quietly and reasonably. Your hate only begets more hate. Use more persuasive methods. : : JANE JORDAN.
