CATHOLICS WARNED OF HITLER'S ‘POSE’
Co! te 1941, b The Indianapolis Times Pye The Chicago Daily News, Inc.
LONDON, July 1.—-A special statement warning the Catholic world “not to be deceived by Hitler's latest pose as champion of European civilization” was issued last night by his eminence, Cardinal Arthur Hinsley, Archbishop of Westminster and head of the Roman Catholic Church in England. The statement reads as follows: “The two encyclicals of Pius XI, ‘Divini Redenteris,’ against atheistic communism, and ‘Mit Brenender-
sorge,’ against naziism, state fully
and clearly the Catholic condemnation of both these movements. “Our country, with our allies, is fighting against the. immediate Nazi attempt to subjugate Europe. No one who knows how anti-Christian the ideas and practices of the Nazis are will, for one moment, be deceived by Hitler's latest pose as the champion of European civilization, or think that it has become in any way less vital to resist his
attempt to enslave the continent.”

Travel—
If you're planning a motor trip this summer the best bet is to find out what roads lead to Army camps and dodge ‘em. Or, if youre going to see somebody in camp, find out in advance exactly what division, regiment, company and barracks your soldier boy bunks in. That will keep you from having to wander all over some thousand-acre cantonment. Don’t plan to stay overnight in a town near an Army camp unless you make your reservations in advance. Military truck convoys moving on highways will have sufficient interval between vehicles for passenger cars to pass through them if ordinary safety rules are observed. Passing through cities, Army truck trains travel closed up and with police escorts move through traffic lights without stopping. In such case, the Army convoys have the right of way, and civilian cars and trucks must not break through
them. FJ » ”
