However, the country is opposed by a slight majority at this time to the idea of keeping the country on daylight saving throughout the whole year, the poll shows. Daylight Time has been a subject of sharp controversy, especially between city folk and farm folk, ever since it was first widely adepted during the last World War.

To discover where the country stands today, the American Institute of Public Opinion interviewed a representative cross-section of persons in cities, small towns and on farms on the following issues:
