today, has assumed formal command of the delivery of war planes from American factories tor Atlantic coastal points for transfer to Great Britain, employing more than 200 civilian pilots as a “stop gap” pending assignment of regular Army pilots to the new duty. Plans for the establishment of & flight “ferry” command were announced recently by Secretary of War Henry L. Stimson. Word that the command already is operating under Col. Robert Olds, veteran Army flier, came from authoritative sources who said the Army is now directing deliveries from aircraft plants on the West, Coast.
