Miss Barbara J. Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul H. Johnson, received her master of arts degree at the 104th commencement ceremonies held at Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley,
Mass., last week.
Degrees were conferred upon 226 seniors and 33
graduate students at the exercises for which Christopher Morley
was guest speaker.
Miss Johnson did her graduate study in the department of zoology after heing graduated from Mount Holyoke in 1939. She will be home the middle of next month and returns to the school next
fall as a member of the faculty.

has appointed Mrs. George * W. Jaqua of Winchester, past Indiana Federation president, as state chairman. Mrs. Jaqua is a member of the Governor's Defense Commission.
The National department and each state department will have divisions of organization, registration, Americanization, housing, nutrition; nursing, vocational training, agriculture, recreation, consumer problems, aviation and U. 8. stamps and bonds. Mrs. Jaqua will appoint a co-chairman and district chairmen at a meeting of Indiana district presidents Thursday at the Columbia Club. Change Organization
Changes made in the General Federation structure by the executive committee include the. discontinuance of separate divisions in all departments except national defense and the placing of publicity and junior club women work under standing committee chairmen rather than department heads. Special activities for younger women will be directed by an extension secretary for junior clubs, to be a member of such a club and a representative on the Board of Directors.

June 16. —Women journalists and embryo women journalists will gather at Indiana University June 26-28 for the annual convention of the Theta Sigma Phi professional journalistic ; sorority. Approximately 125 delegates from some -38 active and 28 alumnae chapters: will attend the convention for which Miss -Naomi Osborne is general chairman. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs, Robert Blake sang the Alpha Chi Omega sweetheart song and the Phi Delta Theta pin song, accompanjed by Miss Louise Swan, organist, who played a program of bridal airs. Dr. F. Marion Smith read the service before an altar decorated with palms and ferns. Baskets of pastel spring flowers and seven-branch candelabra were on either side of the altar. Matron of honor at the ceremony was Mrs. Harry Browning of Huntington, W. Va. Bridesmaids were Miss Charlotte Moor of Knightstown, cousin of the bride; Mrs. William Schneidér and Miss Mary Lucille Marshall, sister of the bridegroom. Mr. Marshall's best man was James Hayes and ushers were brothers of the bride, Grover Jr. David Crise of Miami, Fla, and Roger Crise of Kankakee, Ill. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a .gown of white mousseline. de soie over taffeta, made with a fitted bodice and a full skirt and train. A wide pleated ruffle came from the waist over the shoulder and down the front of the gown on either side. Miss Crise’s full-length veil fell from a small pleated ‘cap of illusion. She carried a bouquet. of white roses and gardenias. ; Mrs. Browning’s' gown of yellow organdy had ruffles around a square neckline and down the front of the skirt and short puffed sleeves. Her ruffied flower-trimmed hat matched her gown and she carried a French basket of daisies, delphinium and baby’s breath. The bridesmaids had similar costumes of blue and identical flowers. : The mother of the bride, Mrs. Crise, wore a powder blue organdy long gown with a corsage of gardenias and Mrs. Marshall had similar flowers with a long gown of navy blue silk.
