HOWE CROWNS (QUEEN OF MAY

High School 4 Y 4 Years Old; - Tech Seniors to Present Stained Glass Panels.

Betty Watson was crowned as May Queen yesterday as Howe High School commemorated its fourth birthday on the front steps of the school with a May Pageant and " Awards Day. Miss Watson was corwned by Tom ho Doran the “Spirit : of the Tower.” Members of her court were Suzanne Conner, Betty Van Arendonk, Melville Weesner and Mary Alys Werkhoff. Award winners included Don Clapp and Jean Huston who re“3 ceived the Iratson yington Post 38, _ American Legion, medals as outstanding junior boy and girl. Kenneth Smith received the Harvard Club of Indiana book award. : The Mu Phi Epsilon music medal went to Clyde Holder who also received a D. A. R. book award. The Phi Beta Kappa award of a subscription to the American Scholar Magazine was presented to Marilyn Behymer. Girls’ Athletic Association emblems were presented to Juanita Pavis and Jo Ann Harmon. Varsity athletes also received rec- . ognition and the Dyer Medal went to Joe Morrisey.

Gift From Tech Seniors

TECH HIGH School seniors will present two stained glass panels for the entrance of Stuart Hall as their class gift at their final convocation

Monday. . Victor Crews will preside at the convocation. Missic will be supplied “by the Brass Choir, the Girls’ Trio and a group of boys from the Choir. ' The entire group will sing their class song, the words of which were. written by Charlotte Van Zandt. Edna Mae Denwood will play the organ. All senior committees will make their final report after a talk by Principal H. H. Anderson.

Win Outside Credit

TWENTY-ONE Shortridge High * 8chool music pupils have received one credit each for a course conducted outside school, Mrs. Laura C. Moag of the music. department announced today. The course requires one hour a day of practice and one lesson a week from an accredited teacher.
